Hey guys and girls,
I currently work as a checkout operator at a supermarket, and have been for almost four years. It is starting to hurt me, both physically (bad back) and emotionally. I'm having trouble finding work at the moment, and I'm ineligible for Youth Allowance and the disability pension.
I recently got my White Card (OH&S training to work on a construction site), and I'm thinking of getting a job doing traffic control on roadwork sites (the guy who holds the stop/slow sign). It seems to pay quite well too ($20-30 per hour).
However, I'm not sure how an aspie would go in a blue collar environment. Is there more/less bullying/office politics than in an office job? I'm also slightly effeminate (in behavior, but I'm built like a brick s**t house), would that cause problems?
Thank you
