Website program that helps you with keywords/search engines?

Okay, so I've been drifting around this section for a while now, and a while back I came across this thread. http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt159903.html

In it, there was a reply by Diane about a certain program she uses that builds a website around merely writing about any subject. It helps you out by suggesting the use of certain keywords to draw the best possible traffic from search engines. I kept this in mind and started writing while looking for all manner of standard online jobs. weeks later, I still have no job, but I have enough material to publish a book. The only problem is, nobody replied to Diane saying she could, so she never posted the link or even says what the program is called. I sent a message, but I'm afraid she has since vanished into the cosmos.

So, is anybody else familiar with this? I've done some searching around, but the best thing I could come up with is blogging websites, which I am not interested in. Yes, its very similar to what I'm talking about, but I do not wish to post to some other website every single day. I'm looking to build my own website that I can grow over the years to come if I am successful. I don't want to just write filler and flood the internet with spam.

Basically, I have a lot to write about covering a range of subjects, and I need to make money not only from my personal thoughts on the subjects, but from talking about specific videogames, anime, technology, gadgets, etc and linking to whatever I may be talking about.

At the same time, I'd like the website to be customizable so that I can eventually add all sorts of videos, pictures, flash games and such. I do not know any coding languages, but I may start looking into java as my website gains complexity over the years because it doesn't seem like java is going to go extinct any time soon.


So, does anybody know what Diane was talking about in that post?

The program seemed perfect, but that simply isn't an option. Is anybody aware of something similar a penniless fool with way too many thoughts and ideas could use to make a living with?

You can do everything SBI offers on your own...you might need to buy a domain, a place that hosts wordpress for you and you'll need to do advertising on your own. But it will be substantially cheaper than 300$ per year.
Or you can build your blog on any of the free sites (wordpress.com) and so on, however I'm not sure whether that's viable if you want to monetize your blog.

SBI and similar services attract a lot of people who build "scammy" type of websites, trying to get rich of affiliate marketing. They provide low/no-value content and only focus on search engines. It's a lot harder to create good content, but it will be more successful in the long term....and it doesn't require you to sell your soul..
