So in my past 3 positions (over 6 years) I've had the same job title "research associate." I feel like it looks too repetitive on my resume... I've heard some people say yes it's fine as long as it's still accurate and not inflated, and others say that it's basically lying on your resume. Thoughts?

It's the truth. Presumably you have different skills/descriptions/employers under each job which will differentiate it.

As long as it's not an outright lie, changing the title should be Ok. Maybe make your last one "Research Specialist" or something that would stand out.
