any aspie/ autie teachers around these parts? need advice.

i'm considering changing my degree to do teaching. i hadnt decided between primary or secondary yet. i want to do primary more than secondary but at the same time secondary education is available for internal transfer whilst primary is not. my parents are having a huge issue with both because they think i have no social skills and dont talk to people. while it is true my social skills are not so polished they are better than my parents think them and i have done things this year that i never thought i could do that involved human interaction and i don't know i guess i just wanted to know what you all thought or what your experiences were.

I'm not sure if its the same in Australia as it is in England but if we want to do Secondary teacher we first need to get our degree in our chosen area of study then do our PGCE for secondary teaching. Have you also tried being a volunter at the local primary school for some experiance? Although you would just be helping a class it would give you a feel if you like it or not. I have currently done this as part of a course and I honestly loved every minute of it. There of course are the bad bits of when a child was being bullied and another of a domestic affair at home, but then there was the joy of when the child learnt something. I will say it is long hours as I know a secondary maths teacher and her husband is always complaining about how much she works.
