Just got a call for an interview

I emailed the CEO of ATB Financial and asked if I could volunteer and they set me up with the branch manager downtown for an interview!

But I'm a little concerned about the types of questions they'll ask me.

Has anyone ever been interviewed in the finance industry? What will they ask me? They know that I don't have a university education yet, but that I will be attending University.

What should I say when they ask me why I quit my jobs in the past? I only have two jobs on my resume that I quit and some volunteer experience. But I know I can wow them - I just have to keep collected. That's kind of hard though when you bring in a resume with barely any experience, and you're being interviewed out of all the other people who probably have CFA's.

I know assets, liabilities, equity, home equity loans, call's and puts, etf's, futures. It's always been my dream ever since I was a little kid running a lemonade stand to have a career in business.

I can also calculate the compounded interest anually, semi-, continuously ect.

I haven't interviewed in the financial industry, but from my interviewing experience I can tell you that all interviews are pretty much the same. Some typical questions they'll probably ask will include asking about your work/educational history...if your work is sparse or not in finance they'll probably ask why. They'll also likely ask your strengths, weaknesses, and goals in life. A trick for the weaknesses is to always make your weaknesses sound like a strength. Another common interview question is to ask you to describe experiences (ex.: Describe an experience where you led a team on a project).

As for why you quit your job, it's hard to say how to answer without knowing the specifics, but I'd probably say something like "I left my previous job to pursue other opportunities that were more in line with my future career goals". Also make sure to let them know that you already know some of that stuff! And best of luck on the interview!

One question that ALWAYS threw me................and what do you do in your spare time?

I would reply with a blank expression, so make something up if you have trouble like me understanding what 'spare' time means.
