If you could wave a magic wand and have the most suitable job for you as an Aspie, what would it have to be?

Mine would be this:

Location: Local, or somewhere where I'd use a familar bus ride to get to
Hours: 15. Tuesday 9am-2pm, Thursday 9am-2pm, Saturday 9am-2pm (that way I can be home before the rush hour)
Position: In a kitchen of a small restaurant, washing up, loading the dishwasher, cleaning up, etc (fairly easy repetitive work, no interactions with the public)
Crowd: Friendly middle-aged people who will take me under their wing and have a lot of good sense of humour and fun to work with and get along with

That is my ideal job. I'm not too bothered about the pay since I'm not a big spender, and a bit of money is better than nothing, and I'd rather work part time instead of full time because of my anxieties, I need time to myself to wind down and ''recharge my battery''. This does not mean I am lazy.

What is your ideal job? (Keep it realistic!)

I think I'd want to make things at home to sell. That way I wouldn't have to leave the house or see people and would have flexible hours.

that sounds like a great job, joe. would you be mad if i got that job and you didn't? (sorry)

hmmm let's see...

I would like a local job, close to the house. Like maybe 5 min, 10 min tops. wouldn't have to worry about traffic then, and wouldn't be late either.
My ideal hours would be from 12-6pm or 12-6am (I am a night owl and only go to bed at night since everyone else is). I am not equipped for waking up so early and I don't become 'awake' until after 12. A lot of times, I can't eat in the morning since my stomach can't handle food THAT early.
I would like to be the stock person in the supermarket. It would be cool to arrange the shelves and restock them. When I go to supermarkets, I am always arranging the shelves anyway.
There won't be much of a crowd during either of those time periods, the pm one everyone else would be at their work or school and the am one everyone would be asleep. LOL

1. Part time in a local library (first job was as page in library in neighboring town).

2. Making stuff at home. I am planning on buying one of those knitting machines to make some of my own stuff. Who knows? I might be able to make enough stuff to sell, too.

3. If my health were still good, and I had my own property, gardening, with a produce stand to sell my crops. Although I would be allowed to garden on my trailer lot, the side I would be able to use is on the north side and gets too little sun. One short end faces west, but there isn't much room there for a garden. The other end faces east and a sun blocking mountain that starts going up just a few yards back of the trailer, so not enough sun light there, either. It's a moot point, since my knees are shot.

#2 looks like the best bet.
