At every job, I feel like the red headed unwanted step child. I am working on a project as a temp at a major bank. I feel like I am not really involved because no one wants me to be. For example, I get zero direction from any manger or supervisor on this project. I am just working with one of the other workers but in reality I feel like I am his assistant or 'reporting to him' while he gets the credit and all communication from the manager goes thru him.

For some reason it seems like no one likes me for some reason I can't put my finger on. I know I have a tendency to tune people out and look disinterested. I have been seeing a psyc doc since fall. I have been on Adderall for about a month and the dose has been steadily increased to 40MG a day along with Prozac (60MG) and now Gabapentin for anxiety.

Am I just paranoid maybe as a side effect associated with one of these medications?? It seems like my anxiety & agitation is amplified even if the depression has decreased and my focus has increased.

I guess I am not fit to work in a corporate office job just like I can't make friends or associate with anyone my age. I am 36 single & have zero friends and always feel like everyone treats me with hostility

It sounds like a difficult job, often NTs have to socialize at work and outside of work to get ahead on the job, which makes no sense to my aspie brain. Introverts are often passed over in the workplace because they are good at their job but too quiet to spend time making friendly banter with coworkers and bosses.

If you feel more agitated I would talk to your dr because that is not a good side effect, and something may need to be adjusted in your meds. No one wants to be more paranoid.

Keep trying and remember that you are doing your best, and it is unfortunate that your work is unappreciated, but they would miss you if you weren't doing your job for them.
