I work with a NGO.
We are having a holiday for summer and within few days we will be joining again.
the sad thing is that they are hiring college students for this job.
so the working crowd is all young, single, extroverts.
I am a middle aged woman who is quite, introvert and totally a misfit there.
I like the job though but cant handle the social pressure there with all the youngsters hanging in there

I spiral into depression when i am around them simply because i feel lonely, empty and unwanted
i had a male friend there we were on same wavelength but he as quit that job............
i feel sick to my stomach hanging in there..

Not all college students are extroverts. Even if they were, you're 'mature' so that should excuse you from some of the pressure of being a socialite

Maybe don't go in with the attitude that they're going to be awful; keep an open mind and this lot might not be too bad!
