can't you answer by yourself?

you can do it.

anyway. as a bystander i sometimes wonder a bit about how it could be to work in certain positions.

in this case i think it's involved with a lot of pressure and you also tend not to think that much about 'whats behind' your computer work. you forget about the fact that people are consuming your products. and you don't give a beneficial output only sometimes when you give a bit but at the same hit you must check you don't also take a lot.

Did a year of it at TAFE, fixing others computers.

Based on my experiences, for the most part, I advise you to run as far away from it as possible. Well, the client management part of it, at least.

That being said; I would expect that you would be able to fix computers. If that is the case, then you can be a "backend worker". This involves *no* client management.

And, then, You have the people that refuse to respect you, The people that play "Blame the tech cos my PC is dead.", and then the people that blame you when the bill is too high.

Other than that, Fair game. Have fun :)

You know what they tell actors? If there's anything else at all besides acting you want to do, do it. Computers are sort of like that, only more intense.

For us people with executive function deficit, narrowing down what specifically you want to know would be helpful. After 18-1/2 years, I've had just about every experience you could think of.

I worked for 6 months in a hospital as an network tech. This was an internship, but I found
the working atmosphere was very friendly and understanding. It wasn't driven by excessive
client demands and bossy superviors

First full-time job was at a VoIp company as a VoIp technician. Liked the technology but hated being pestered with client demands, the whole please-be-nice to the cusotmer, don't say this, don't say that BS

Second full-time job was a support technician at a film company. Once again, I hated the working atmosphere

Currently working in a community radio station as a volunteer computer and broadcast technician. Love it. Boss isn't a dick plus not too many demands being thrown at me all the time

I worked for 10 years as a Network Administrator, Programmer and just all around computer guy. Loved the work, hated the environment. Finally got tired of staring at a computer screen and the stress of dealing with users who wanted one thing and told me something else. Quit, went into retail for a while and now I'm a Medical Assistant. Love my job now!
