I am a second-year HFA law student, and I have a pretty secure permanent job lined up for after graduation. However, I am open to change and open to volunteering or doing pro bono work to help others on the spectrum. I will be in the D.C. area during the summer but go to school in Austin, TX.

I was wondering if anyone knew of any autism-advocacy groups that focus on legal or policy advocacy.

I wish more people had your willingness to help Aspies when it comes to the legal world.

I'm facing a problem with receiving an inheritance that the executrix of the estate is trying to steal from me, but I've been trying to figure out how to make my way through the system and I just can't do it.

I've already been taken by one Attorney who ended up dong nothing after a year and a half but is still charging me thousands of dollars for ...well, doing nothing.

I'm frightened of working with any other attorney, and I can't afford the retainers most of them want anyway.

Because of my own difficulties with employment, my age, and the fact that I've been out of the workforce for years while caring for my mother who suffered dementia, I REAALLLY need my money if I have any hope of starting over, but it doesn't look like I'll be able to get it without the help of an honest professional.

If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to chime in.

An organization that calls autistics "disease," "empty shells," "worse than cancer" etc.

At least they're doing something about it. The idea that LFA children shouldn't be helped because of the aspie pride complex doesn't quite seem right.
