I need to send some stuff in, and do a drug test, but I got a job with Crossmark demoing food in Walmart :) . It is part time, but I won't have to move in order to find work, and will be net ahead compared to moving. I will be able to invest, go to school, and maybe eventually go abroad. All the interviews are over the phone, so if you ever notice these on a job site, try applying. It is 10 hours a week, at 10.40 an hour. I am rather happy, and wanted to share some encouraging news .

Nice one!

I'm surprised they want you to do a drug test though.

I don't want to jinx myself, but I too have found a job. I'm almost a month in and it seems to be going okay. So ya . . . :D :thumright:

Great! It is a tough economy out there (especially where I am), but I found something, and so I am happy about it. Now I can work towards some goals of mine. :) .

I know Ontario and Michigan are quite a bit a like, except maybe more industry overall in Ontario. Is the economic situation about the same? It seems like it might be doing slightly better (as well as Canada as a whole VS the US).

I know we're linked economically by the Detroit Windsor corridor, so we must be fairly similar.

Well, and the industrial base is kinda the same, except Canada seems to have done a better job of keeping it's base. We share the auto industry and thus there is a lot of trade in relations to that. Now I am talking mostly for lower Ontario. Toronto and such probably are more diverse. But anyways that is my musings. Our unemployment is around 7-8%. About the same there?

Yeah about the same. I find it's harder trying to find something that is suitable for me. A lot of the jobs available are too social.

Gotcha. There are some jobs where I am , but more jobs elsewhere. But the main issue is most of these are cashier positions, and I suck at those. But I found something that is not too bad, and does not require coming up with random things. You ask if they are interested, tell them about the products, and ask for a soft sell. Not too bad. It is also part time, like 10 a week, so not too strenuous.

I"m walking dogs. It's my last hope (well, unless I write a novel.) It's good.
