..if I never worked during high school. I There was opportunities given to me, but until senior year, I was actually forbidden by my parents to get a part time job. They say that working during high school would "distract me from my studies". Now in college, my parents are more or less pushing me to get a job.

I've started my job search in the beginning of last October, and so far, I gotten no calls, no interviews. All I get are automated emails saying that I applied at X. I was wondering because all I have in my resume is my contact information, a few references, and a bit about myself. Even in workplaces that have NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED in their description tend to probably ignore me? How long should I wait before I apply to another place. My latest job application was submitted 2 weeks ago today. Thanks

You should keep applying at different places. Don't apply at one place and wait, you have to apply at multiple places and keep on doing it even if you have an interview scheduled. An interview isn't guaranteed you will get one.

When I went to Iowa State I had a hard time finding a job. Eventually, I got one with the food service at school. The pay was poor but it did pay some of the rent.

Got a call from one of the places, but they told me that they needed someone to start at 5AM, on a day I have school at 8AM and clock out at 3PM. I told them that I just couldn't do anything to fix that.

As of today, I submitted 8 applications.

Working during high school can be hard because you have a lot of people competing for the same hours.

I only worked for 3 months during high school and I'm an IT manager.

Now college on the other hand, you do need to find a job during college, as close to your major as possible, or in another marketable skill.
