This is kind of an add on to an earlier post. One of the things that I have also discovered is having a support structure consisting of individuals who are willing to explain things to you more than once.

There are alot of people out there that think they should only have to explain things to you once and that is it. Well thats not true if you are on the Autism spectrum. The key thing is having a support group consisiting of many individuals if you are single. I know most people have a spouse that helps them put it all together.

I was not that lucky. So what I have to do is to rely on different individuals for assistance and think about the challenge facing me based on past successes that I have had.

Feel free to comment.

Yes, it's useful.

Having a spouse for a handler is very nice because they are always around. It is even better to have more support than just one person though, because sometimes marriages fail. I am fortunate to have friends that look after me.

I've heard of something called a "life coach," who's a kind of social worker that advises you... not a bad idea.

I think it's not just a social worker can be one- so can be a teacher, OT, SLP, or any other professional who works with autistic individuals can claim to be one.
