I do not have a license but maybe someday I sign up for the course driving.

As I recently read on the website of, driving schools that they offer for addedd additional fee course driving emergency vehicles, ie those with the siren on the roof.
Ambulance, fire truck, police car, but also garbage trucks, etc.

I wonder what it looks like in other countries or to drive such vehicles, just ordinary driving license B, C, E, C + E, etc.

Do you also need to pass a special course just to drive such vehicles.

I'm just asking out of curiosity.

I think you need a special course to drive them in Norway. It's not just driving them, you also need to be able to handle situations that arise.

To me it seems like a stressing job for an aspie with lots of sensory impressions ( siren, lights ) and for the garbage trucks you have to deal with the horrible smell.
