What did the woman in my office really mean?

A few months ago this lady who works in my office said to me "I notice not a lot of people in the office talk to you" and she continued "I am not saying that we don't like you"


What might she have really meant by that comment?

I think that she was making an effort to talk to you so that you knew that people like you and so that you don't feel left out. Sounds like she would be open to you making conversation with her like asking her if she's got anything nice on the weekend.

I need more context in order to form an opinion. Do you feel this is related to what you said in the other thread about being made redundant?

It is an odd comment for her to make. There's for sure sub text, but I'm not sure the nature of it.
