Career/vocational counselor for NVLD?

Hi,
I'm new to wrongplanet and not sure if this is the right forum for this question. I know the site is primarily for those with ASD, but really hoping someone might be able to help!

I am a 33 yr old female with NVLD. Wondering if anyone could recommend a career counselor who has experience working with individuals with this disability? I have been able to find counselors experienced in ASD or ADHD, but not at all with NVLD. No one has really understood the different characteristics, strengths/weaknesses associated with NVLD vs ASD as they affect employment. For example, many job settings/styles that would be (stereotypically) ideal for someone with Aspergers are precisely wrong for me. Yet those are the jobs these counselors keep trying to slate me in to. It's just what they know. . .

So, I beg, if anyone has any recommendations, or ideas of other places where I might have luck asking the same question, please, please help me out

I'm in the NYC area, but referrals to someone in any location would be much appreciated!
