Yay!

Hopefully Walmart will treat you well.

Did they give you a medicad and welfare applications and packet at hiring?

No they didn't. I probably can't get help for at least 2 years because I have a life insurance policy that I can't get rid of until I turn 21 and it counts somehow as financial access

Ah Walmart normally gives Medicad and Welfare packets to their new hires and helps them get on the programs.

Also when you turn 21 you should be able to cash that insurance in for money.

Congratulations! Walmart is a good starting job. I worked at Wal-Mart in a previous life and I didn't mind that job. I'm glad things worked out in the job hunt.

About life insurance. Life insurance is only considered access to financial resources insofar as the proceeds are in the estate (the period of time between the insured person's death and the distribution of the funds). This doesn't apply to assisted medical insurance eligibility. It would probably be to your benefit if you ask that your parents don't claim you as a dependent, and then you can obtain health care through low-income relief provided by your state's health care exchange or marketplace. Once you're eligible for that, you'll qualify for medicaid.

Congratulations. :)

It's normal to be nervous before starting a new job. You'll be ok.

Congrats!! :) It is normal to feel nervous about starting anything new. It will take some time to learn the ropes, but once you do you won't feel as nervous as you do now.

Oh good! I was following your job search a little bit. Your username sticks in one's head.

Being a door greeter looks like one of the better Walmart jobs. Stocking looks to be where it's at though. No one talks to you and you get to neatly stack things up all day long.

I wish you luck.

I still wish you'd go to college, though.
