Due to lack of transportation, I have to do a phone interview instead of in person in hopes my transportation issue will be resolved before the job starts. I feel at a disadvantage already. I've been reading tips online, and I've had a job in the past say they hired me because I sounded enthusiastic over the phone. But I got in contact with the lady I would be replacing and she didn't think I had much of a chance! What do I do?

That was an encouraging thing for that lady to say...

Have you already had this interview?

I love phone interviews! They don't take as long as an in-person, and people who maybe wouldn't have gotten a chance, do. People who you might have been sure about can be screened out if needed. You'll probably do a lot better in a phone interview. Less things to concentrate on, less social skills needed.

Think positive!

I had the interview and one issue came up with me being able to climb hills for the job but I asked and there is just one hill so maybe it is a non-issue...I'll find out at the end of next week

Oh, and I said I wondered what parks I would be working in and they emailed me a list today, sign of interest, or just doing what they said they would? And I did write a nice follow-up note.
