"Executive function" perhaps?
Yep, it's the functions in the brain that deals with planning and coordinating every things like remembering what time it is, what to do at work, what to buy at the grocery store as well as more abstract thinking (i.e. remembering stuff you've read in books or imagining a scenario of what would happen).
Most people with Aspergers have trouble with the executive function, so we need some help with it. As I just wrote, it can be a good idea to write down notes. Also asking your manager whether you are doing it right - don't be afraid to ask several times in a row.
