What is the salary for a custodian and how does it pay well?

Minimum wage is like $12.00 per hour in Westchester, Nassau, and Suffolk counties, $13.50 in New York City and $11.10 rest of the state. As for what I have worked as a janitor in an automotive dealer, it is min wage. (Formerly $10.40 per hour).

When I started I made almost minimum wage working floor-care/floor-cleaning at WalMart. I got raises because my reviews were great. I made a tad over the minimum wage doing custodial stuff at a sporting goods store. I'm from Louisiana & their minimum wage is the federal.
