I was thinking I might never work again, but my application from April was still in the local school district's database, so I got a call recently about an open lunch room aide position. I got interviewed, it went really well, and I got notice today that I was officially hired.
This isn't a big job by NT standards, but it's still two hours a day of paid work, and thus enough to pay for my weekly groceries and gas. This will make it easier on my spouse, especially given the big medical bill I had in June.
Hoping it goes well. I've done lunch room duty many times before as a substitute teacher, so it's not like I'm walking into unfamiliar territory here. The shorter hours will also make it less taxing on my executive function. Plus, it's a high achieving school with well-behaved children.
Between this and volunteering at an animal shelter twice a week, it's nice to be doing useful things again, and not feeling bad by laying around at the apartment while spouse works.
