At times in my job, I will have to disclose my diagnosis to new members of staff. (Not all staff, but senior staff).

That time has come. I haven't really done this since my interview, and I already have some kind of relationship with the person, in the context of them not knowing that I have Aspergers.

What to say, how much to say, how to say it, how much they know/don't know about it, what misconceptions they have or don't, I have absolutely no idea.

So, what would/do you say in this situation?

It depends on what they need to know.

If they don’t need the diagnosis then tell them what they need to know.

I tell coworkers that I have difficulty reading people. I ask them to be specific, using only words to get their point across.

Just a suggestion.

IreneAdler, if you will tell us what you do, and why you feel you "have to" disclose, we could give better advice.

As far as I know, nobody ever has to disclose an autism diagnosis. The exceptions might be the military, Peace Corps, etc. Most people don't disclose. So I wonder why you have to?

Wolfboy99's advice was also good.
