Okay so today I just got hired at a human service agency that has close to two hundred offices in my region. It took me a year and a half to two years before and after college graduation to find the right fit for a job. Over time I realized it’s not the money nor things jobs offer that matter, it’s something that’ll make you happy no matter what. After over a year of complaining for it to come I finally got my wish. Now begins my trek towards finding a standard of living suitable for me and my significant other to be on our own out in the real world. A full time job and a part time job (which my girlfriend has) won’t matter together but it’ll count towards our plan to move out and possibly spend the rest of our lives with each other after knowing her about a year (She’s a real keeper). Anyways about my job, it’s a receptionist at the agency’s museum of disability history (seeing that a history major and hospitality minor gets you a desk job pretty quick if you have a mind to it). After about a year of my own troubles with life experiences, I’m finally starting to become financially stable though will take a little bit longer before I’m out of the family house. I went through so much before I got there. To all of you out there I encourage you to follow your dreams, get out there and achieve more cause nothing is impossible and you never quite know what you’re gonna get. Good luck!

Congratulations!

If you have the right mindset, it is possible to live very frugally and enjoy a pretty good standard of living. Especially if you have a partner to work as a team.

Best of luck!

Oh yes it is full-time and it gives good benefits, now I just have to figure out how I’m gonna get off my mom’s health insurance. I’d get my own but would have to pay out of paycheck or SSI whichever seems fruitful. As for pay, it’s biweekly at $11.10 per hour and puts me in a position within my degree field personally while working in a museum affiliated with the human services agency in which they directly assist people with disabilities. As for now I could rake up enough money from that and working at my other job one day a week to pay monthly rent to get by upon my standard of living. I’m aiming towards to see how it will provide employee perks, paid time off, as well as dental and vision insurance. Im also trying to see how I can provide for a debit card out of bank. Another way down the road is a major factor in contributing how my self directed services will be provided for me while working two jobs developing my budget at home.

Well done on your progress! Great to hear. You don't have to change some of those minor details overnight.

It's always nice to read something inspirational. Keep it up!
