I submitted a preliminary application to a grad program last year that included a partial tuition waiver for working at a nature center... (Masters in park/rec administration)

Now I get an email from a professor in that program trying to beg me to join... But now I have this new apartment, I'm afraid to move, etc...

I don't really have people to write letters of recommendation anyway... And I was going to volunteer at the nature center anyway, maybe in the future...

But maybe I should still try out at the zoo.

You should absolutely go for the grad program. If they're interested in you (as the email shows) you should be able to get good grants/scholarships. (Try not to take out a loan; that might be the only reason to skip the offer.)

If a professor is begging you to join, at least try to discuss all the difficulties with them.
Maybe they will give up begging or maybe you would widen your support network - who knows?
What can you lose?

That’s a good idea.

Discuss your situation with the professor.

Where is this college located?
