Not a very good title I know, but couldn't figure how else to word it.

But IDK I have a co-worker with downs syndrome and I know he's into watching sports its just something he's into. I want to get him a sports jersey of a team he likes just because I think it would mean a lot to him. But I just don't know like if that's 'appropriate' or like if it would be something I shouldn't do. Like I don't know if I should maybe mention it to like a supervisor or something first and just make sure it would be ok to do something like that.

We work at a thrift store, and he certainly really enjoys seeing some of the sports team shirts that come through...but as far as I have observed doesn't seem like he has bought any of them, or that anyone has gifted him one so basically I don't know if there is like a reason or if its just no one has thought of it before. Like basically I don't want to over-step my boundaries or whatever and as it's the first job I have actually been able to keep I am not really sure about all of what is appropriate and not appropriate at a job and what you should talk to a supervisor about first or not.

IDK if I am just overthinking this, or if perhaps I should check with a supervisor just to make sure something like that would be ok. Any input is welcome.
