I want to find a job, but do to circumstances both in my local area and in my family, I cannot get a local, in-the-flesh job. I have to find an online job but I struggle a lot with doing online work, because it's done at home and not out in a working environment.
Can anyone help find a simple, part-time online job?

If you see any thread by me on here that isn't "proselytizing," I can't explain that because that's obviously impossible; because again, all I've ever done on here is "proselytize."
WP is the 2nd worst forum site I have ever been on.

I don't know much about that other than it tends to pay poorly with no benefits. Think < $8 an hour. When I was unemployed, I used to read a forum with work-from-homers discussing their jobs. There were a lot of cases of workers not getting paid at all, late checks, and they had to install spyware on their computers that monitored everything they did, every keystroke and mouse movement. It is a grind, the minute you stop working they stop paying. In short, it made me lose all interest in online work. I think it is just a method to exploit all those people that are invalids or for some other reason cannot leave the home, the idea is to exploit cheap labor. It is all about exploitation, these jobs lead nowhere and they terminate you the minute any problem arises. Yet a lot of people will put up with it even to earn a few bucks a day. Think people in 3rd world countries, you are competing against them in reality. I mean if someone in Africa will do the job for a dollar a day, why pay you more?
Better are gigs like those web sites where you can land temp jobs doing stuff for ordinary people in the community. Or just look at classified ads on Facebook.
I suggest going to a specialized forum just for that like https://www.reddit.com/r/WFH/

There are no "simple" online jobs unless you want to make a dollar a day on something like Mechanical Turk. Most legitimate and worthwhile online jobs involve computer skills at least, usually more advanced/extensive skills than that. The simplest online job I can think of that will actually pay minimum wage at least is data entry, and that will be difficult to find unless you sign up with some sort of disabilities organization. They also help people find telemarketing jobs.
If low-level skills like writing or using Excel are simple enough for you, you might be able to make some money freelancing, but it'll take a while to get started and you'll have to deal with being self-employed, chasing down your own money, marketing yourself, etc. So it's not really simple either.

People in Kenya make money online writing college papers for lazy Western students. Term papers, essays, thesis, dissertation, you name it. It makes a joke out of the whole university/high school system. But then all college really is, is purchasing a piece of a paper in order to get a better-paying job.

I hear This Publishing House is always looking for new talent.

(LOL I get the feeling Greatshield17 is not interested in writing for the bigoted morons that make the Chick tracts, Fnord. That's like asking a black man to print the newsletters for the local circle of the KKK.)
Try TranscribeMe to get a start at something, or try freelancing. Pitch some articles to --Well, you're Catholic, so try writing for Catholic publications. Contact a few of them and see what's needed. You seem like a good enough writer here; I bet your skills are a lot better when they are not for one-shot posts on an ancient internet forum. So maybe try something like that?
I am in the middle of something like that myself. Also, if you have your story finished you could self publish on Amazon--But that's a lot of work (Believe me...Currently doing that)

Yeah, I got to say, lot of wasted talent here and on other forums. I mean what does forum-posting profit us? Whereas if Catholic.com (random instantly generated example) pays you a $5 honorarium at least you can buy yourself a dozen eggs, organic and free-range at that.

Well, to be fair most churches I know solicit volunteers for various things in the newsletter or bulletin on Sunday mornings. The Unitarians were asking for computer help. I was about to volunteer for that, but then I had an unpleasant social interaction with the Pagans, and my enthusiasm cooled. Then Covid-19 came along and gave us all a good excuse just to give up on church altogether.

It's called volunteering for a reason; because it's voluntary. People often will join together to do something they like or support. Lots of people do that without expecting to be paid.
Your argument is invalid.

In my church, volunteers do get "paid", if only in meals, coffee, and/or donuts.
I usually volunteer first, and then (discretely) ask if we'll be fed later. The answer is usually 'yes'.
