Does anybody else think that being mind-blind makes it difficult to find a job that you will enjoy? As smart and effective as I am at work, I seem to get really unhappy and have to quit. And I keep making mistakes in choosing my work, frequently getting wrapped up in projects that I don't enjoy, and end up having to stop them abruptly.

This leads to a lot of indecision on my part. I go through long stretches of unemployment where I debate and experiment with random work. My long-term goals for success are somewhat stunted by all this flakiness.

Do you think that this might be from a failure of imagination on my part. i.e. I can't effectively mentalise what I'll be feeling a month into some seemingly promising job.

At the job center etc. they all ask me "and what work interests you?".
I always answer that any work interests me because I just don't know.
I don't like them asking and they don't like my answer.
