I have closed a macdonalds down for 2 hours while on work experience, by pulling a lever which sprayed lots of foam over the grills. Put £40 pounds worth of petrol in a diesel engine in a work van, drove a dumper truck into the side of a house. The list is endless, I just feel under so much pressure when i'm working, does anyone else go through this?

Yes I have made mistakes in bookkeeping and they are embarassing when they come up. But because of the nature of the job, I am trying workpapers to cut down on the errors.

Everywhere I go, there I am, making mistakes. Yours have the virtue of sounding hilarious.

ok I'll tell you about mine too.
I was working at a materials export office and one mistake I didn't correct caused a delay for an entire trailer full of exports going to the Home Depot in CA, even the president of the home depot heard about my mistake.
they didn't fired me, but I quit

ouch sounds like a bad day there benjimanbreeg,

dont feel bad i have even seen nt's pull some of that off (petrol in diesel engine, in fact that did happen over summer one of the recreation department men did just that) he put about half tank of regular gas in then realised there was a notice that said DIESEL ONLY on side of the mower right on the tank. he then called my dad and his boss asking what to do after he couldn't get the mower to start (key ignition start) all while my dad had a vacation day,

benjiman, did they do any drug testing on you, this area if working and do even one little screw up (even when you scuff a tire on curb with township owned vehicle(garbage, dump truck) would lead to immediate drug testing. i truely think they should give a bit more slack in a way, i mean yea it would be hard to PERFECTLY park a garbage truck by yourself but petrol in diesel engine yea thats quite not the best thing to do if you plan on using the engine.

try to have a better day NOT EVERYONE IS PERFECT

You are right when I look back at my mistakes they are funny, but at the time I just want the earth to swallow me up. Here are a few more examples of my work disasters:
- I left my coat on a fire heater and went to the shop, luckily another guy noticed and took it off, while it was just starting to burn, otherwise the house probably would have burnt down, my coat had a big hole in it after that.
- I dug up some flowers in a bog garden, which I thought were weeds. I then tried to re-plant them, but the next day the customer say them floating around in their moat.
- I was meant to lock up a building site before I went home, but completely forgot, leaving 4 houses open, a digger and a dumper truck both with the keys in the egnition, luckily nothing was stolen. I don't think i'll mention all this in my next job interview! Thanks for all your stories, I think now I have been diagnosed with highly functional autism, things should get easier. Does anyone else get extra help at work, cause I know i'm gonna need it!

I drove the blood bank van from Las Cruces, New Mexico to El Paso, Texas .... 41 miles... with the emergency brake on.

I was wondering what that smell was! Man were the wheels HOT when we got in. I believe I had them partially released, otherwise I think we would have lost the brakes all together.

Next...

I pulled the oiltank off my harley, cleaned it and replaced it... reversing the intake and output hoses!
I rode from El Paso, Texas to Ft. Stockton, Texas ... 240 miles before I noticed how hot and glowing my pipes were. Actually this doesn't go here because I was on a personal trip.

I've had a few in the medical field that caused a patient or two to have second or third blood draws... that really sucks!

I misread a map once and our ambulance hit a dead end and we had to race back down that same street in the other direction with sirens wailing... wonder what those folks living on the street thought.

I can't keep tons of little details in my mind at once, so kind of make mistakes. And this is at a theoretically fairly low pressure job.
