Executive Dysfunctional issues at work
I am really struggling at wotk at the moment because:
(a) My boss expects us to each come up with, plan, and carry out our own work.
(b) I am useless at organising things, particularly when I have to involve other people.
(c) The routine type of tasks I used to carry out well are no longer regarded as a priority, and therefore I am not supposed to do them. I have little competence at or experience in the tasks which are regarded as a priority.
(d) Other members of the team do not include me in their projects.
(e) One of them also obstructs me when I am trying to do my work, either by muscling in, going behind my back and changing things, or telling me not to do it yet because it will make him look bad.
(f) It really infuriates me that our database is out-of-date & screwed up, so I spent time on trying to update it & got told off for "wasting time"! !! !
(g) I waste a lot more time by not knowing where on earth I am meant to start and ending up writing useless lists or doing no work at all.
(h) I have little confidence in actually doing the job because every situation is different & I can't use routines.
(i) The open-plan office drives me nuts with all the noise & movement.
(j) Because we have to hot-desk, I can't leave half-done tasks out overnight so end up putting them away & forgetting about them.
(k) I hate making phone calls where other people are listening to me.
Aaaargh!! !!

That does sound like a quandry.
Executive dysfunctions have gotten the best of me at just about every job I had.
the one where I was the least affected was the job that I held the longest because it was so rigidly wired into a routine...It was a sorta old-fashioned receptionist job where I was wired into a switchboard..but I had issues there too....and my co-workers were a buncha catty females, most of whom couldn't stand me for one reason or another.
At every job, it has always been one thing or another.
So now I have a job where my executive dysfunctons go reltaively unnoticed...running a performance and arts space...but they get the best of me there too...i just ston't stick out for them..
shopaholic,
Wow. That sounds like quite a load to carry into the Holidays. Hope you can cope.
Everything's going well at work for me right now except for my relationship with my immediate supervisor. For some reason I just can't get an intelligent sentence out in her presence.
Okay with everyone else, but mumble-mouth with her.
I have been telling myself to play it cool and give myself some time for an opportunity to show her who I am. But it's been nearly a year now!

Don't we all:
You bet, fortunately my boss insists on doing all the organising himself
And then there is no end of s**t because it is screwed up and wastes even more of everybody's time.
Been there done that, read the book, seen the film and bought the tee shirt!
(h) I have little confidence in actually doing the job because every situation is different & I can't use routines
Ouch, ouch! I know both of them.
Without doubt my vision of hell!
When I have built my time machine I will go back in time and murder Alexander Graham Bell
I HATE telephones!
