I went to a very long interview with a financial software company. I think I mostly nailed it but didn't do so hot on their set of logic puzzles at the end. I have a non-verbal learning disability and I had to struggle hard to overcome the challenges my NVLD presented on top of solving the puzzles. I hope I'm not eliminated due to my performance on the test.

Would you consider logic/puzzle tests (mind you these are timed) discriminatory against persons with non-verbal learning disorders?

It really bothers me that companies now impose tests like this on people! They take hours to complete and those are UNPAID hours. I also think they discriminate against people who may not be NT. I applied for a job and took a 4 hour "personality" test, so they could evaluate my ability to not only problem solve but my "moral" compass. My moral aptitudes are no one's business let alone a potential employer. The test consisted of 240 questions involving phrases like "the means meets the ends"? strongly agree or disagree? then it would ask the question again reworded like 5 or 6 times. I wanted to rip it up into little pieces and run screaming from the building.

I applied for a statistics job. It took me two hours to do all the math problems they gave me. I know I did them correctly, but all I got was a letter in the mail a few days later saying I didn't have what they were looking for! What a waste.

When I ask these sorts of questions during interviews I'm not looking for the right answer. I'm looking for someone who can work the problem in a logical fashion and explain their thought process. I'm also looking to see if they're motivated/determined to solve the problem or if they give up after a single wrong approach.
