When should I start looking for a summer job?

My school year ends on the 18th of June, and I really want a job so I can get some $$$ I know I can get a job, I'm good at interviews and my abilities outweight my disabilities I believe. I just need to know when I should start looking...I can't do it until next week for sure, as I'm so freaking busy, but after that I could.

I can't say for sure up where you live, but here in the states, I think it's good to start a couple of weeks before school is out.
It depends on where you are going to apply also, I think.

Some places have a training program you have to go through so if any place you want to apply to has such a program, you should find out when it is - day and time - and how long it is.

Some places hire just as soon as they know they are going to lose someone soon due to a transfer, quiting or firing.

I'm sure there's some people here who might have management experience who could relate their experience... I don't have that type of management experience.

Another thing I can say from my years of working are that a person should NEVER have a parent pick up or drop off an application for them.
The times I have seen this done... the staff later ridiculed the person who wanted the job (not to their face but just between each other) about it and that person was never hired.

Have you worked anywhere before?
If so do you want to go back? If you do, I'd go to a former employer sooner than later.

What are you hoping to do, or are you open for any job?

Right now. Or as soon as possible. Take a few hours and put in applications wherever you can (but natch look for the places with now hiring signs). Wait a few days, then go back to a few of the places and ask to speak to the manager. Ask him or her if your app has been reviewed. If it hasn't, this may prompt them to.

I just noticed that you're only 16. In the states an increasing number of employers are looking for 18+ers. Check out your fast food joints and local grocery stores.
