When applying to a job do you tell him/her that you have Asperger's?

I do only because I don't have a problem with people knowing my diagnosis.

I don't. Don't feel like explaining, and like they need another excuse not to hire me.....

dependswhat country your in and what the disability discrimination act is like.
as a general....dont tell anyone ever in a job contexxt until you know them.
non As people are nasty, they will claim not to be but they dont know As like we know AS.
i find in a work context and from personal experience despite strong legislation where i live, disclosing As has left me open to bullying and "subtle" harassment.

is your aspergers relevant to the job? i don't know how mentioning that would be beneficial. even if it's illegal to discriminate in hiring, you couldn't prove that they did (or even know - lots of people don't get jobs they apply for), and it would be a perfectly valid defense for them to say that bringing that up when they didn't ask is reason enough not to hire you. 'would you bring that up with customers?' they might worry.

once when i was an assistant manager i took an application from a woman who put 'i have depression' as the reason for leaving her last job. bad answer if you want to get hired.

There's only two reasons I can think of that you would, and that's only because they're both occuring to me. First is that you've been unemployed for so long that you need a damn good excuse for it and are annoyingly honest. The second is when it doesn't have an effect (affect? I always mix the two) on your quality of work (they're required in the US to accommadate you even if it does, but that won't stop a lot of ignorant jackasses from descriminating).
