That's great news. I've got Finnish blood (mother's side of the family tree) but only speak a few words of Finn and Swedish. Plus, I don't live there, which sort of sucks. Nice info, though. I'm sure it will be helpful for our Nordic Aspie brethren.

I recently hired an assistant, and it crossed my mind to seek out an Aspie candidate on purpose, but the whole thing happened too quickly for me to do that.

My current assistant might not be working out so well, though. He's not nearly literal enough.

So, if I were to hire a new assistant (I'm a Database Manager), and I wanted to advertise specifically to Aspies, how would you suggest I go about doing that?

I knew about Left Is Right, but hadn't heard of Specialisterne. This is definitely great news for aspies, at least those who are willing to tell others about their diagnosis.

But Left Is Right is after all nothing else than a for-profit company. (They also make a point in stating that a company, and not a charity, that they are.) They are promoting a rather stereotype view of aspies, mostly with the buyers in mind. (They hire their employees to work as consultants for IT companies f.ex.) The AS is the most important product that they're selling to their customers.

The employees' main qualification tends to be their AS, and not their competence (or excellence) at their profession.

I'm all for a labor market where our talents really are valued, not our AS. Much better that way. But that requires employers to not reject us when they get to know how weird we are.
