I been working a construction job.
for the longest they let me work as many hours as I wanted provided that someone was there to open and close the place.
I have someone working under me, last week he screwed up, I had the day off, he took too many smoke breaks,
and he wrote down he got off work a half hour longer then he actually worked, since he was an underling of mine
I was the one who got my butt chewed, I had to go to work the next day and listen to the boss rant at me for a long time.
I made up that half hour my self, then chewed on my underlings butt a bit later, I do not want to fire him (yet) there
is too much work to be done and I do not want to train someone new, he is doing fine now, but because I took steps
and responsibility and made up the difference my boss is now letting me work as late as I want and lock up.
I still do not get to have the key to open, but soon he just may let me have it, but the last few days I worked
I been putting in 10-12 hour days. which is good, I been needing the extra hours. I only work 4-5 days out of the week.
I could work more but I had rather spend the rest of the time home with my son, the extra hours are making up the difference now. my boss cares not how many hours I work as long as I get the job done, I done told my underling after an upcoming inspection we may not need him any more, I hated to do this too him but if its my ass or both of ours its going to be his.
The Big boss (the owner) says that if I am still around when the building is finished he may make the the maintenance man
for it (if I want the job), and I also may be offered the position of running the theater thats built on to it, not managing it, just running it.
