I'm an accountant. I excel at problem solving. I love it when I can straighten out a messed up set of books. I don't like the day to day routine of A/P and A/R as much. I also don't like it when expectations are mixed, or when the bosses expect a report in the next hour that will take hours or days to get together. I also don't like it when the bosses require changes without any clue what they're going to mess up in the process.
I generally like the work, but not if it's high volume data entry. The social aspects aren't too bad, but I had one VIP who kept wanting to pick pick pick at small details without any idea how hard it really was. He also kept wanting to subvert QuickBooks to his own ends without any clue how this relational database actually works. Apparently I had difficulties communicating that properly. What? I can't say "D, no you can't do that!"?
