Hello everyone,

I have been diagnosed with Asperger's since I was very young, I am now 17 without a job. I have been in a IT job (technician) which I didn't mind to much, but lots of physical work involved so I left (and phones).

I've also worked in retail but I do not like that one bit, I can't talk to customers, or talk on the phone.

I am very good with computers and I would like a job involving them. I am also good with small mechanical items (P.M. me for more info please).

I am welcome to alternatives, but it can't involve using the phone or talking directly to customers (unless by email). I am quite shy to new people to me, and I am not very good at communicating or eye contact.

I like to get heavily involved with things so that could be a plus for certain jobs.

I am pretty good at typing, sending emails, English (I try my best) but maths I am not that great at. I have my CV's perfected etc.

I do not drive, should I be learning to drive before attempting to find a job? I'm not a big fan of public transport but I can use my "push"bike to get to work etc.

Please ask for any more information, or P.M. me.

Thank you ever so much!

Your options are limited.

You:
17 and unemployed. I assume no higher education.

Requirements:
No contact with customers or new people. I assume you won't mind working with people you'll establish long term relationships with...
No heavy number crunching.
No driving license required (for now atleast).

Strengths:
Computers
Typing

Job's I can think of aren't that popular. Such as data entry, manual labour or nighttime service jobs.
If you do get a license, drive for a few years...you could work in public transport. How about becoming a train driver?

Alternatively you could make money online through various schemes, but if you're after a propoer job I guess these options are out?

I recommend you develop a some skill that will provide a decent wage. For example have you considered becoming a draughtsman. How about a plumber?

Good luck whatever you do.
