The boss supplied each of us with $10, and the task is to buy something "fun or funny or edible or useful or useless" for the christmas party coming up. It will be used in a party game (one of those which you have a choice, you either open a gift, or "steal" a gift that you like from someone else, and that person has to go open a new gift, etc and eventually at the end of the game you get what you are left with - it might be what you wanted, might not, depending on how popular the gift was. ). It has to be gender neutral, and appropriate.

... and no, I can't just wrap the $10 back up and put it under the tree ;)

Anyone have any ideas? $10 is getting to be very difficult to be creative with. I thought I found a great present - it was two little animated penguins and they were the right price - unfortunately when you turned the voices on, they said how much they loved each other (actually, they said "wuved each other") and how they just wanted for christmas was to kiss each other. After steadying my gag reflex, I put them back - that would be SO wrong if one of my bosses opened it :eew:  !

My fall back plan at the moment is biscotti, cranberry/pistachio white chocolate "bark" and hot chocolate, but I am not sure, that is pretty boring.

Actually, that sounds pretty good. Everybody likes food.

We had that at work and I bought a "Grow it yourself Christmas tree" it grows in 3 days and it comes with tiny tinsel and decorations. Also I got some santas that you can throw at windows and they flip flop downwards.... Got em at borders bookshop. Go figure.
