Amtrak or Greyhound?

If so, please elaborate.

I am considering a job as a "ticket agent" with the three mentioned.

I once had a temporary billet on the USS John Hancock. Does that count?

No, but I've had similar jobs.


Ticket agent could mean in-person , at-the-counter ticket selling/processing or it could be over-the-phone ticket sales.


If its over the phone, PLEASE make sure you work for an airline not for amtrak.

Most airlines either use their own software or will train you in a program called WORLDSPAN.


If you get WORLDSPAN in your resume ... your pay rate instantly jumps up for the next job you apply for.

To give you an idea, when I worked in a travel agency, the travel agents were paid about $14 an hour. The airline ticketing agents who used worldspan were paid 17 an hour.
