As an Aspie I hate office politics and dealing with different personalities

I hate it too but it is a skill that one has to acquire, even for NT's. It also depends on the place you work at. In some companies the political game is not tolerated and in others it is encouraged.

I try to avoid it. My boss is chatty and enjoys talking about politics, but I keep my head down and go about my day, or else nod and smile. I recently got my hours cut due to the bad economy, and I don't want her cutting them even more.

I think it is best to try to stay out of office politics

Diagnosed under the DSM5 rules with autism spectrum disorder, under DSM4 psychologist said would have been AS (299.80) but I suspect that I am somewhere between 299.80 and 299.00 (Autism) under DSM4.

I'm a pragmatist. I can play office politics in order to get stuff done. However I don't come to work to engage in office politics as a means to an end. Which is why my current job sucks. This company resembles the set of the TV show "Survivor" were somebody is getting back-stabbed or thrown under the bus daily.

I can only imagine how vicious office politics have become in this economy with the constant fear of being layed off.

I used to leave work with 10 knives sticking out of my back, most days.

It totally depends on the "administration". If I get along with management than I love and excel at office politics.

If I don't get along with them, I will crash and burn in a blaze of glory.

Usually people who are into office politics are in positions where pretending to do their job would get their job done just as well.

I wish I was into office politics but my mind was created to do useful things instead.

Damn, what a tragedy!

I am impeded from doing useful things because I am bad at doing useless things....
