Yup, but again only if your kids can handle it. We had our sons in karate for 1.5 yrs. Every time the other kids did their kiai my sons almost jumped out of their skins, and they were more and more bored, miserable and uncomfortable the longer they were in it. By the time we did our last session they loathed karate, and no amount of forcing them for their own good would change that.

I think it also depends on the school and the senseis. They need to be aware of how to motivate kids and keep it fun and light. I have no doubts at all if my son were in a different school with sensei's who werent as kid and spectrum friendly as they are, he would never have made it this far. I hear horror stories from some of my friends about their kids karate schools and am glad I found a winner!! !

I am 43 and want to learn how to box. I've backed down from many fights b/c I just get nervous when violence arises, but after being bullied (lots!). There will be a few times when someone needs a good a**whipping. Its just a fact of life. People are mean and ruthless and theres a time to stand up regardless if AS or NT or whatever you are. For you parents who have young kids with AS, confidence is such an important part. Sorry Ghandi, but being passive will only get you tire tracks on your body.
