Buy a book on numerical coding in history: binary, Smitty Harris Tap, or Morse code. there's probably more out there on binary and Morse thats age appropriate. This is a special interest of mine so I am always interested in giving more information (I developed a software that uses a modified numeric form of Smitty Harris Tap to improve my typing speed and allow me to take notes in class at the same speed as others and actually be able to read my handwriting). There's a book called George Washington: spymaster that might be of interest also the mysterious benedict society books seem to be a hit with Aspies and Auties with good reading comprehension (not as much reading between the lines required as normal books for 9 year olds).
