That is so scary!! ! We were at the library a while back and Tate went out a little ahead of me. This guy in an old large car was sitting in the handicapped space. He did not have a handicapped sticker I noticed that as I came out. Then he tried to call my son over to him. he said "hey little boy what books did you get come over and show me" Tate froze for a second he did not really have time to respond he is not a touchy kid so while he might have had a whole conversation with the guy he was not likely to have gone over but I was not taking that chance. I yelled "Tate do not do it good people know better then to call children to their cars! It is just wrong!" Tate ran to me and the guy drove off. If he was not a bad guy I am still hoping I shamed him. You do not call children to you that you do not know even if you are safe you are teaching them not to be safe.

That's first-rate! Strong, and yet still medium course of action. Nicely done.

The school might be very receptive, 'Yes . . Yes . . it's important' or they just might view it as more casework. I often have a hard time continging and graciously backing off if it's the later. (Of course I do, for they should take it seriously)

fight and scream like hell. Exactly the right thing. Now, there is a "Kiai!" in martial arts, which is a loud attention-getting yell. That, combined with a well-directed, snake-fast kick to the knee, and grib-freeing techniques. I'd hate for it to come to a child fighting an adult. The element of surprise gives you some chance.

In addition, most good martial arts instructors preach walking away from a fight if you can and avoiding dangerous situations.

Our schools do like to know. They track the patterns and will warn all the parents if deemed necessary.

My parents always told me the nitty gritty truth of what could happen if I accepted a ride from a stranger. They told me not to believe their stories, adults don't need the help of a child to find their missing pet, if a stranger offered a me candy or a new toy not to accept and to run away screaming. They told me that sometimes they inlist other kids to help them convince a kid and not to fall for that one either. I hated other kids so I don't think I would have anyway. My parents told me the truth. They told me I could be killed or tourtured and went into detail about it and I think that's part of the reason I was never kidnapped. I was told to scream bloody murder and told to hit, kick bite and aim for the "man part".

When my son was younger,he asked me if monsters were real. I said yes, but the problem is they look like regular people.
