I have had a firm belief of reincarnation from my early childhood, even to the point of blathering about other places I had lived and who I was there while a child. I learned to keep quiet about when I was older but secretly thought that is what "ye must be born again' was all about. I remember in Junior High when I read about Buddhism and was astonished they knew about the immortality of the soul as it was exactly as I had imagined it.
( of course, there were no video games when I was a child, and other than Wile E. Coyote never perishing from his many trials with the Road Runner I had no hints you 'got more lives after you were dead')
I am so sorry for the loss of his beloved grandmother, Adora. I hope you take some time to yourself to grieve, too. Don't be surprised if sometime a week from now, a month, a year or two, your dear boy finds himself reacting to missing her and not knowing what is wrong.
I am so glad you found our little corner of the world.
