My son is having a very hard time right now. Need advice.
lillemor - I think you really hit the nail on the head. Changes in life are often difficult for kids with AS. I know they are with my son. Because it's often difficult to express feelings, kids get stuck and deal with it in different ways.
I don't know if there are life changes, as lillemor suggests, but they're huge stressors. I'm going through a very tough divorce right now. SM funneled all that stress into issues at school - homework being the main thing. We cut back on that and put a time limit on it - all with the support of his school. And with our support as well.
It can be very frustrating at times. I agree with lillemor that you give your son the best support you can. I won't repeat what she said because she (I'm assuming lillemor is a woman) said it so eloquently. But I think her advice is the way to go.
