DX Day... sort of?

The only animal that really bothers Z is an owl. According to him any creature that can turbn its head almost 180 degrees just isn't natural. Cor and I have tried not to pass our pet phobias on to the kids, proper respect and awareness of potential danger yes but we don't want them to let fear rule their lives. Z is learning that respect, he has decided sticking his finger in a snapping turtle's mouth is not a good ide and S is getting over her "terror at the sught of a bee or wasp. She was taught to be afraid of everything bit is learning that she can walk through the woods and not be eaten alive. I love working with kids and these two keep me hopping. I'm trying to decide if they are keeping me young or giving me grey hair.

When I was 6, my parents brought my younger sister and I camping, we saw a large blue dragon fly and became histarical, we thought the long abdomin on it was a stinger! My mother was beside herself with what to do with us!

On another note, I remember once my sister and I around 18/19 years of age decided to try our hand at fruit picking to earn some extra cash! After 2 hours of my sister screaming and cryinig about the wasps "attacking her" the owner of the orchard told us we needed to find work in an air conditioned office!

I am feeling pretty good tonight, I got off the phone with my husbands aunt, a special education programer for a school board in my province (no where near me unfortunately) anyway, she is really taking me under her wing and teaching me the ins and outs of what to ask for and what sort of help is available. Having the DX should change things a lot! I think I am going to ask her to be an official representitive with my son. I think she is willing, it would just help send a very clear message not to mess with me, or my son and get him the help he needs with no excuses if a lady like her was in our camp!
