We just had an IEP, too. If issues are contested and you feel rights aren't being met, it's important to get an Advocate like the other parent say. You can find them all over and most are government funded. Make sure all your goals and needs are being addressed. When you start bringing in Advocates and Attorneys, the bigwigs from the district will start attending. We usually have over 25 people in our IEPs. My wife doesn't mess around. She means business and she runs the IEP. She doesn't let the district or school do that. That way, we as parents are heard instead of everyone having their say then dismissing the IEP. Our voices are heard from start to finish. They don't like my wife.
