Parents.. do you ever feel lonely?
The divorce process is draining. Your sister will probably feel better once the divorce is behind her.
i agree on that one once the divorce is finalized, you have that official closure to things and all the paperwork has been done and it is all settled and set, inthheroy anyways. but it still doesn't take away that loneliness.
DW- thanks for sharing that, i know i feel like less of a mother becasue i would like to get back into work for a break from my kids, but i see other moms who are with their kids all hte time and even home school them, and i wonder if i somehow love my kids less.
i do have the luxury of only having to work part time as a divorced single parent, however i am thinking that my part itme job naybe shouldn't involve kids becasue with it being kids at work then my own kids i get kind of burnt out.
i guess each of us has to find a way to fill that gap.
ster- i like the ideas of community classes too. good idea
Here's something for you all....................

You must remember this.
Don't feel bad. I think everyone gets lonely at times. You may find going back to work part time helps, but honestly and from experience you'll find yourself feeling a different kind of lonliness and then there's the 'mom guilt'. I stayed home w/ both my boys for the 1st year of their lives...started back part time and am now full time...can never go back financially. I do get adult time now that I work, but still need time to 'myself'...but because I work I feel even more guilt when I do get the chance to go out w/ friends or shop alone. I LOVE my boys and husband, but still feel I wish I had more friends to do things with...but then if I did I'd need more time to hang out. It's a catch 22 and from what I'm reading and hearing it's just part of being a parent. As your boys get older you'll have more time to yourself because they won't need as much from you all the time...like they do when their little. Mine are now 10 and 6....I'm just now starting to take the time I so desperately wanted. I felt guilty at first, and still do at times, but feel much better now that I have 'my time'. I schedule it the same every week. Every Tues night (or at least twice a month) I go out w/ my mother and 2 friends for Margaritas. We have a restaurant in town that has Tues. night specials. . . .I'm gone about 2 1/2 hours and have a lot of fun. We talk, eat and have just 1 drink. It really helps me feel better. . . .and I've realized it makes me a better mother and wife. My husband now takes those Tues. nights and makes them 'boy nights'. He and my sons go to dinner and do 'guy stuff' while I'm gone. They all have fun so there isn't as much mom guilt on my end. Give it a shot. . . .you may find it's just what you need. You don't have to have a lot of friends, I know I don't, but just having the opportunity to 'get out' and have it planned may make you feel much better.
You're not alone! Good luck to you!
