Well, first day for us went well, but we got a call on the second day. It's nothing major -- his English teacher wanted the kids to read for 15 minutes if they had a book. Mine didn't (neither did many of the others) so she told him to find a book or magazine that he found interesting. He didn't find anything INTERESTING (think literally here), so when she handed him a Reader's Digest magazine to read, he didn't think he saw anything interesting in that, either, and didn't read at all. She called us to tell us about this -- very understanding teacher. After talking with my son, it became obvious that she told him to find something INTERESTING, which he didn't understand really meant "just read anything for 15 minutes"! Now, after talking with him, I think he DOES understand.
Problem solved . . . until the next one comes around!
