Every time I'm CONVINCED he has Asperger's he improves

Thanks everyone... There is NO WAY I'm canceling appointments. I've been waiting since Nov. for Child Find and will probably have to wait 6 months for the testing appts for diagnosis (I've only been on that waiting list for a week). I just don't want to go there and feel stupid. I'm super glad he is conversing more, but if I were to sit him with 20 other nearly 4 year olds, he would be the one 'off' for sure. Better doesn't mean, normal range. But it's nice to see progress and I'm happy, HAPPY to see we've rarely seen regression so far at least.
Don't let Child Find give you the "wait and see" line. I bought into that and my son went to kindergarten without any supports. The differences become much more noticeable around 1st and 2nd grade. That's when they found my child eligible for autism services, but it was too late at that point and I consider his kindergarten & first grade years as a waste of time.
Do you think that "asperger's" is a death sentence or something? Your child will improve for the rest of his life. Asperger's isn't going to go away. Your child is a unique individual who stands to be successful just as much as the next child. Accept him for who is and give him and get him all the support he needs to grow.

You know - that really is uncalled for.... I'm learning, I'm worried, I'm concerned - I want the best for my son like every other parent.
Over the last couple months I've learned so much through various resources and I do feel hopeful, but really do you think making statements like that are helpful at all? or is it just to make you feel better by lashing out at someone?
