Will school ever be better?

It is weird that this high school requires only four classes per semester for mainstream students.
That is not going to look good on college applications, taking only four classes per semester.

How come? It is still 8 per year. Applications are sent out in February after the second semester has been going for a month. It is not only that school that is like, every semestered high school in Ontario is like that so its the same for the majority. Last I know of one high school in every district had to stay unsemestered, the one around here though refused to take any "non-normal" kids though.

Some schools do a block schedule, so it is more like college. The classes are twice as long so it is more like 8 periods instead of 4. A class that would normally be a year course in HS is a semester course like in college.

That is what it is like, regular 8-2:30 days with hour and a half classes as I recall. The great thing about this system is you can't end up with more then 4 classes of homework. 8 classes at once means 8 teachers that are not communicating with each other potentially giving out abnormally large amounts of homework at once.
